Hey That's Pintastic!

29 October 2012 4 comments
Yes, I'm back with the Project Pinterest this week! Since it is almost Halloween I decided to make my project pumpkins! I do pumpkins every year like most people and for me I make my pumpkin carvings as simple as I can because I don't find I'm all that good at it! I can clean a pumpkin perfectly but when it comes to carving it up I often think it is better to just make easy then maybe ruin it! This year I decided I would try something new and just go for it! If I messed it up I messed it up! I looked over Pinterest and got some ideas! Even got a little kit from Wal mart to help me out! Here are my results!

All our pumpkins! Mine and Erica's

Erica's Pumpkins!

I'm very proud of our efforts this year! I think they turned out great :) Thanks for stopping by I hope you have a great Halloween and Happy Pinning!

Weekend Update!

22 October 2012 2 comments
Since I didn't have any time to get something together for Project Pinterest I'm going to link up with the ladies for Weekend Update!

This weekend the family packed up and headed to Halifax for my cousin Lisa's wedding! The wedding was beautiful and the ceremony was delightfully short and sweet! Even Lisa said it was great since she thought it was going to be like 20 minutes and it ended up being like 10 minutes. It was also nice because it was a night wedding and nothing started until 7pm. I love a wedding that just flows from one event to another. Ceremony to cocktails to dance! Since it was a rainy day it was also awesome that everything was in one spot! We had a great time and always great to spend time with the family! The hotel did a great job setting up everything and making sure Lisa and Nic had a wonderful wedding. I'm really glad we got to be there with Lisa and Nic for their special day!

Lovely set up for the cermony

Here comes the bride

Sunday, well lets just say Sunday was super lazy! Went to breakfast, Costo and Starbucks before heading home and then I napped for the rest of the day!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I will have something for Project Pinterest next week for sure! I already have the plans in my head for it! Happy Monday Everyone!

Guest Blog Featuring the Lovely Katie!

19 October 2012 5 comments
Hi blog dolls!  My name is Katie and I blog over at Lady Million.
You're reading this, so I already like you.  But I also like mimosas, makeup, and coffee in case you were wondering.

First, you should know extreme organization makes me weirdly happy.
"A place for everything, and everything in it's place" :)
One of my many motto's.
Hence why I HAD to have this thing.  My hands were tied.  I had no choice.
Reason #2 is that I secretly want to be a Kardashian and they use this type of storage.
Google it for proof.

What:  Muji Acrylic Cases... found here.
Price:  $27.95 + s/h for the 5 drawers

You literally cannot get this quality for a better price.  Trust me, I tried.  After some intense research I found that to get this type of system anywhere else, you will most likely be paying in the $100's....
Sorry.  Not happenin'.
Read the reviews at the bottom of the Muji website and most of them say something like this:
"I couldn't ask for a better makeup storage system!.... they are so pretty and all my friends LOVE them..."
Needless to say, I'm pretty happy I found these badboys.
I did the 5-7 business day shipping, so my total order was arounnndd... $35.00
It did take the full 7 days which I was not uber excited about.  I got so impatient that I hunted down random FedEx trucks driving around town looking for my package.  FedEx is not on my good side, but that I'll leave that story for another day.

All of you fabulous readers.... you need these.  Good makeup is an investment.  With these you can properly display your hard-earned collection, and keep it a heck-of-a-lot cleaner.
I dressed mine up a little bit with the greenery and stones to match the rest of my bathroom.  I also display a couple of my perfumes and some Clinique/Aveda products that I use daily on top.
Perfection.
To top it off, it saves me at least 5 minutes of prep time in the morning since I don't have to dig for makeup at the bottom of a bin.
#winning
To wrap things up... a big ol' thank you to Shang for letting me chime in on her blog :)  She. Is. Fab.

Does anyone else have anything like these?
What are you using for makeup organization?

It's Okay Thursday!

18 October 2012 7 comments
Hey lovely readers! I don't really have anything to talk about today but I figure since I didn't blog yesterday I should throw something up today! I'm going to link up with Neely and Amber since I haven't in a long time and get down with my It's OKay Thursday!

-that I had deep fried pickles today! They were delish
-that I still haven't figured out what to wear to my cousin's wedding on Saturday
-that I'm watching Criminal Minds for the 3rd time today.
-that I love me some Ben Affleck
-that I'm mad at LA Reid for not taking Daryl Black
-that I'm probably going to start my Christmas cards this weekend once I'm home from the wedding on Sunday
-that I'm openly listening to Christmas music now
-that I like Twitter more than Facebook

And all of that is totally okay!

Oh My Blogging Friends my friend Allana over at A Husband and A Dog is looking for a couple more guest bloggers when she is away! Please check out this post if you are interested in helping her out!

Another Cinnamon Recipe!

16 October 2012 5 comments
Yes, I told you I loved cinnamon! It is a huge part of fall baking so I have yet another cinnamon loaf for you! Yesterday on another Pinterest Link Up I saw that Ashley Paige made Cinnamon Apple Streusel Bread. It looked amazing so I decided today that I would make it too!

It is really delicious and pretty darn simple! Took me maybe 15 minutes to prep and then it takes 50-60 minutes to bake! I used one HUGE honey crisp apple for this because I didn't want too much apple in the loaf because I like more loaf then fruit when having some loaf haha! If I wanted fruit I would just eat it ;) Anyways I highly recommend trying this recipe!

Now, go and check out the other Pinspiration Projects!

Happy Monday Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I'm not feeling great today so I'm going to make this short so I can go and lay down and just watch TV for the night.

It is Monday so that means it is time for another Project Pinterest! I'm posting another wreath! Yes I know I'm obsessed and I have posted one like this before but I love it!! I made this same wreath last year for my momma and now my friend wanted one so here is the new one!

For this wreath you will need a foam wreath form, yarn, glue gun and whatever accessories you would like to add to your wreath :) Also I wrap my wreath at least twice, it looks much fuller and IMO much better.

Happy Pinning Everyone!

Firstly I want to thank the ever lovely Pink Lou Lou for guest blogging for me yesterday! Didn't you all love her post! I'm even more in love with fall now. I think I have mourned summer being over enough now so bring on everything fall! Thanks for making me want to go and buy a bunch of sweaters, jeans and scarves PLL! haha

Also, welcome to my new followers! Love having you here now! Thanks for dropping by from PLL's blog and liking it is enough here to follow me! I love you all already.

Now onto Friday Letters because that is what I do on Fridays!

Dear PinkLouLou again thank you for posting and amazing blog post and having an amazing blog that got me back into blogging and actually loving it! You're awesome!

Dear Fall, you're really here now because it is freaking cold today! I have broken out the fleece pj pants! But it is okay because I got to wear a super cute scarf today :)

Dear Ben Affleck, I have recently developed a new crush on you. I normally was all about your best friend Matt Damon but holy you have become the hot one now. Is it weird I had this revelation when I saw Argo's trailer for the first time. The shaggy look isn't your best look but hmm you're pretty hot. Watched Anderson today and confirmed my crush! Thank You for being hot Ben Affleck!

Dear Property Brothers, thank you for being on TV right now so I don't watch Criminal Minds all night! Now I will only watch it most of the night. Also, Jonathan, you're the hotter twin brother because you're the handyman, makes you hotter sorry Drew.

Dear Fall Rainy Night, please bugger off by tomorrow because I don't like you! :)

PinkLouLou's Fall Fashion Must-Haves!

11 October 2012 17 comments
Hi ladies!

PLL here guest blogging for Miss Brittany!

October is my favorite month of the year, and not just because it is my birthday month, but because it signifies the beginning of fall, the best season IMHO. ;)

So get out your Candleberry hot maple toddy candle, set up your pumpkin decor, and let's talk fall fashion must-haves!

I have compiled a list of fall staple items every girl needs in her closet to be oh so chic for the autumn weather.

First off: boots and your favorite dark denim jeans. Not necessarily to be worn together, but you need both- trust.

I just ordered these boots! And these jeans are my absolute fav dark wash, boot cut jean. Necessity people.

2: You need to have scarves. I just found these and decided I needed... so cute for fall!

3: Sweater Dresses. So cute with tights and heels, or boots! This one hails from Old Navy, and packs a lovely price tag.

4: Vest and button downs. Wear together, or separate, but I love this look with jeans and boots!

5: Sweaters. Like long sweater cardigans to be exact...  LOVE this one. Go for neutral colors, creams, browns, blacks so you can wear them with everything :)

6. Skinny jeans. In multiple colors. My personal fav are these from Express!

7.  A fab bag. I have been lusting over this baby for some time... and have finally decided to just go ahead and make it mine. Gorgey, no?

And when all else fails, just try and re-create this look. NO idea why I love it so much, it just says "oh look at me being so effortlessly fall chic" to me. HA.

Hope this helps get you inspired for fall!! I will be posting some more fall fashion finds on my blog this week! Thanks so much for having me Brittany!

xo,

AND...
